I came to Esmat after trying many therapies including Chiropractors, osteopaths, massage and alternative therapies such as Bowen technique, Rolfing, etc.
My problem began when I hurt my left ankle which resulted in me changing the way I run – I was putting more pressure on my right side to compensate. Hamstring, hip and back problems resulted and have given me grief over the past 15 years.
I stumbled across Esmat and first saw her, thinking that she was another practitioner that couldn’t help me.
Esmat does something that many practitioners don’t do; she diagnoses the real problem by undertaking a thorough assessment of how your body is currently functioning. Although I found this to be a time consuming process, it helped Esmat identify where my problem areas were and how she could treat them. Esmat then bases each treatment thereafter on what she sees at the start of each appointment, she doesn’t just put you on the table for a standard generic treatment. She analyses your body on what she is seeing at that point in time and treats accordingly. She also works with the patient; she will constantly ask questions and get your feedback on what you’re feeling during the treatment.
Finally, the thing that Esmat also does that other practitioners don’t is that she will research outside of your standard appointment to gain an understanding of your problem and how to fix it. Her dedication to get to the root cause of issues separates Esmat from other practitioners in her field. I have gone from exercise being painful and now almost pain free in a 6 month period.

Four years ago I suffered a lower back injury which resulted
in having three lots of surgeries, facet joint injections and countless visits
to my GP to get pain medication, all of which sort of fixed the problem but
never really attended to the cause, as I was still unable to walk or function
well and was constantly in pain.
At the end of the day, the distress that is suffered by your
family, hospitals and the medications are not good for your health or your
mind. After getting off the medico treadmill, I discover alternatives,
chiropractic adjustment and remedial massage. I have discovered that through
having regular massage treatment, my muscular memory has been reset so that my
body is not being pulled in different directions. I no longer need to use pain
medication and have become quite physically active again. Having a great team
of people who care about what they do and the quality of life, what they can
achieve for their patients is of the upmost importance. I cannot recommend Esmat
and her wonderful team highly enough; they have helped improve my quality of
life so much, many thanks to you all.

Many thanks to Esmat and Paulina who provided my treatment during my
training for the 2009 Busselton Ironman. I suffered a hamstring strain a
week prior to the event which I initially thought would mean my withdrawal
from the event that I had trained so long and hard for. Without their
proper diagnosis and management, in a very timely manner, I would not have been able to achieve the success I did on that big day. I felt
surprisingly good the next day also which I attribute to Esmat's
expertise. Not only is Vic Sports Massage a world class clinic, the warm
hearted and sincere nature of all the staff make them a pleasure to deal
with. Thank you for helping me to make a dream a reality, I look forward
to your continued service into the future.

"I would like to thank Esmat and her team, for all of the therapy throughout my training and lead up to the 2008 WA Ironman Triathalon. I had a great day out for my first ever Ironman distance triathalon, exceeding my expectations. I also was in far better shape after the event than one would have expected for this distance. I put my successful race performance and recovery to the training along with the pre and post sports massage therapy at the Victoria Park Sports Massage Clinic. I draw particular attention to Esmat successfully diagnosing and the therapy employed to my feet and calf tightness a few weeks out from the event."

I have recently been treated by Esmat & have been impressed by the results!
My initial purpose for visiting Esmat was due to neck pain after a car
accident many years ago.
Esmat did not just look at treating my neck, she investigated the "bigger
picture".
She was able to establish various issues occurring within my body which
affected my neck.
In fact, during my early 20s, I injured my elbow but had but up with chronic
ever since then.
I have had it treated with cortisone, acupuncture, trigger point work, lots of rest but no one has been able to relieve the pain.
That all changed - I had a reduction in pain after my first visit to Esmat!
I am a rehabilitation exercise trainer and am fully aware of how injuries can affect the body.
Also a Pilates instructor, I know how important good posture is.
All of this affects the body's dynamics and how it moves. Knowing this, I am confident to recommend Esmat.
Thanks Esmat!

I am pleased to be able to provide this testimonial
for Esmat Parkar at the Victoria Park Massage Clinic.
I presented to the Clinic around 5 weeks ago having been
suffering from chronic migraine over the last 9 years.
My migraines had become so severe that over the last 4
years I basically had one for about 6 days out of 7. Often
the migraine would last for 7 to 10 days fluctuating up
and down as I took drugs and then they wore off. Over
the years I have tried most of the remedies available
to migraine sufferers plus a few alternative therapies.
I had tried all of the prophylactic drugs and, under the
supervision of a neurologist, also tried combinations
of those drugs. I tried botox injections into the muscles
around my skull, I tried, acupuncture, aromatherapy, Reiiki,
reflexology, physiotherapy, and meditation.
Nothing
I tried gave me anything more than fleeting relief and
by the time I came to see Esmat I was surviving on a
cocktail of panedeine forte, aspirin, migraine specific
medication (the type you take when you actually have
a migraine) and valium to treat the muscle spasms. I
slept poorly and on most nights needed to take some
form of painkiller to get to sleep. I was woken at between
3 and 4am most mornings with a thumping headache wondering
how I was going to get through the day. My job had been
affected, my social life was non-existent and I was
barely able to cope with the most basic tasks around
the home. Side effects from the drugs I was taking made
life even more difficult.
Treatment with Esmat has been a combination of deep
tissue massage (from the soles of my feet to the top
of my head) and also treatment with the SCENAR.
Within the first 2 weeks of treatment I got considerable
relief from pain and was able to sleep without painkillers.
I was still getting occasional migraines, about 2 a
week which was an amazing improvement for me. The migraines
when they did come were much shorter lasting (around
6 - 12 hours instead of days) and I was able to treat
them with aspirin.
I discovered the effectiveness of the SCENAR
when I was having a treatment with Esmat while I actually
had a migraine headache. She was working on my lower
back and put the personal device (ENAR) pads on the
back of my neck. As I lay there I could feel the headache
pain easing and by the time she was ready to work on
my neck the headache had gone.
I have now purchased my own ENAR to use at home in
between treatments. I am using it pretty much everyday
and find that I can get rid of pain using the ENAR instead
of drugs. Over the last 3 weeks I have not had to take
any of my stronger drugs, the only thing I am taking
is aspirin and that is only about once per week. I sleep
well and wake up most mornings pain free. If I do wake
up with a bit of a headache I get the ENAR straight
on to the problem and usually it goes away. I even take
it to work with me! I am still getting occasional migraines,
but am looking forward to a life without them as my
treatment schedule continues.
I alternate my appointments at Vic Park Sports Massage
between Rosana who is also an excellent therapist, as
well as seeing Esmat regularly. I recommend them to
anyone who is suffering pain. My life has taken on a
whole new rosy hue.

The injuries to my left leg were initially the result
of a car accident from many years ago and then a fall
directly on the knee. I was in constant pain with burning
and numbness in my legs. My legs had started to swell
like balloons and the tightness and burning sensations
were so bad I felt like both my legs would explode.
I saw an Orthopaedic surgeon and had corrective surgery
in December 2007 which included the removal of three
cysts, repair of tears and clean up my left knee. After
ten weeks I had expected to have better mobility, so
I went back to the surgeon. He advised he had done all
he could surgically however as I had some relief with
accupuncture, he advised me to try some other treatments,
it is a case of finding what works best for you.
My whole body felt like it was swelling and had become
toxic. I had
become so miserable. My partner decided to look on the
web for
alternative treatments and we found Esmat. I booked
in for a treatment
and really didn't know what to expect.
When I explained to Esmat that I felt toxic and that
my legs were so tight and tingling she understood what
I meant. After the initial examination Esmat explained
to me what she thought was the best method of treatment
and we began. My muscles were so tight and sore and
Esmat used a combination of massage and the SCENAR.
After 2 days I had more mobility in my left knee and
the swelling had reduced in my legs and the tightness
had reduced. I felt great.
I booked a repeat treament for a fortnight and noticed
further improvements. I attended on a regular basis
each fortnight for six visits and noticed each time
my mobility had improved and my sense of well being
increased.
I really feel that I have been given a lifeline. I
can now walk up and
down stairs with relative ease, I can drive my car and
I can go for walks
around the river. I can't thank Esmat
enough for the
understanding, care and consideration they gave me.
I have my sanity and
my life back!

I
have pleasure in providing this testimonial for Esmat
Parkar in relation to what has been excellent
diagnostic and remedial services.
I presented at the Victoria Park Sports Massage Clinic
in mid September with severe back spasm across my lower
and mid back. I had mid range soreness in my lower left
hamstring (I suspected a tear from the last game of
hockey!) and left adductor muscles. The back pain also
radiated across the top of my right hip and down through
the quadriceps. There was general tightness and aching
of lower leg muscles in both legs. I had difficulty
walking and could not stand up straight.
I also had a pre-existing injury, inside the right
shoulder blade, that had been treated on several occasions
previously but had reoccurred.
I have been to a number of sports physiotherapists
during my life and most of these have treated my injury
problems professionally and in relation to the specific
injury, usually with good results.
Esmat is also very professional but with a significant
difference.
Esmat starts by mapping your muscular structure and
identifies where the starting point of an injury or
issue may be occurring. She works on loosening the cause
to then fixing the presenting injury. She has an ability
to quickly find and manipulate the areas that are impinging
on the free movement of muscles involved in the complete
action.
By the end of my first session she had me standing
straight and walking, not 100%, but freely and what
a relief!! At subsequent sessions we have been working
on other muscles and tendon structures in my feet and
legs. I am standing and walking straighter and freer
than I have for years.
I mentioned we are working. This is an important
point. Esmat works with her patients, rather than on
them. The way she works is by detailed mapping of muscle
groups, stance and movement. She is very particular
in explaining the connection of actions in movement
and impact on related muscle groups. This helps to recognise
the feeling of where ?hot spots? are and the level of
change after work has been done on that area.
I will continue on a maintenance programme (regular
massage therapy) so that I am making sure that I am
preventing some of the previous problems and do not
fall back into the error of getting used to the pain.
This means looking at the whole picture not necessarily
just where the pain is.
I have no hesitation in recommending Esmat, she has
my fullest confidence and appreciation in what she has
helped me with. Thankyou Esmat fantastic!
Esmat also continues with her development on her remedial
knowledge and skills and attends seminars and training
with acknowledged international experts in massage therapy,
manipulative techniques and diagnostic management.

I work in the field of landscaping. My daily tasks include shovelling, pushing barrows, laying paving, handling limestone blocks and planting trees and shrubs. The work is heavy and physically demanding
A couple of years ago I started to experience dizzy spells which periodically stopped me from working, driving, and at the worst moments, from evenwalking aroundat home. Over a day or so in bed, the dizziness would ease and I would be then able to get back to work etc.
I saw Esmat in January 2007,she immediately identified a constriction with the muscles in my shoulders and neck and used her remedial massage techniques to release this tension (which was constricting the blood vessels and affecting my eyes and ears). The dizzy sensations ceased straight away, and over a period of lessening visits, my neck and shoulders were restored to health. While I wouldn't describe the treatments as pleasant or relaxing, I could feel immediate irnprovement in my flexibility and posture. During this time, I was working continuously.
I ceased seeing Esmat in April 2007 and had no recuirences with the dizziness until June of this year when I suddenly was very dizzy again for several days.
I managed io obtain a cancellation appointment and both Esmat (with her SCENAR) and Rosanna (using massage) worked on me and cleared the dizziness again. I have been seeing either Esmat (using the SCENAR) or Rosanna (for massage) at weekly intervals since then. I now feel stable again and will be reducing my visits (following Esmat's instruction) soon and will return periodically for a maintenance treatment.
I really appreciate being able to continue with my work and to kinow that there is a logical and treatable reason for the dizziness.
Thanks Esmat and Rosanna. I'm so glad I found you.

Before I started seeing Esmat, I had headaches, neck
pain and chest pains for about a month. I had been for
a cardiograph and various other tests for my heart which
all came back clear. I had sciatic pain running down my
legs and my legs were cold all the time. My ankles and
knees were swollen for nearly a year and I had visited
the doctor many times to have blood tests, x-rays and
ultra-sounds, all to no avail. I was at my wits end, wondering
what I should do next when my sister told me about Victoria
Park Sports Massage Clinic. I have been to the clinic
for a massage about four times so far and the change in
me is remarkable. I am no longer constipated and I pass
urine properly which I had difficulty with before. I followed
and continue to follow Esmat’s after-care advice.
I recently told Esmat that the incorporation of massage
and after-care advice had changed my lifestyle and made
a difference to my health. I no longer have aches and
pains in my body, which I previously experienced for as
long as I can remember.

I am a forty-seven years old
woman who enjoys my work as an academic and a psychologist. Although my work is
sedentary, I walk and do yoga.
After 6 months of increasing
pain in my hips, when getting in and out of the car became an agony, I went to
my GP who diagnosed bursar in my hips joints. She suggested three possible
treatments: physiotherapy, orthotics in my shoes, or steroid injections into
the bursar.
A naturopath recommended me
to Esmat Parkar at the Victoria Park Sport Massage Clinic. Esmat took a
carefully history taking into account former injuries (cracked ribs, a
hamstring injury), chronic condition (scoliosis in my lower vertebrae) and
patterns of behavior at work (sitting for long periods with my legs crossed)
I had a series of four weekly
massages. After this, my hips were markedly improved and I could move freely
again.
I return each month for
ongoing treatment to maintain these gains and most days I am pain free.
I recommend Esmat Parkar’s
massages for people wanting to get relief from debilitating aches and pains by
addressing the causes of the discomfort and not just the symptoms.
